  30. From the KERMIT.UPD for version 3.14:

  32. SET TERMINAL COLOR 20
  33.   If Kermit receives a "reset visual attributes" escape sequence (CSI 0 m)
  34.   from the host, this does not affect the screen coloration.  However, some
  35.   applications expect it to restore the default fore- and background colors.
  36.   SET TERMINAL COLOR 20 tells Kermit to do this.  v3.14.

  38. By the way, if you have any official DEC documentation that says this should
  39. be the default behavior, we'd like to see it.  Our DEC VT manuals list the
  40. actions to be taken on CSI 0 m very explicitly, and none of them affect the
  41. coloration.
